Angels as Brothers in Arms with Dan Duval
The body of Christ is largely uneducated about the angelic realm. When I bring it up, people shift in their chairs. They get uncomfortable. "But Dan, do you not know that New Agers talk about angels and working with their angels and they are all full of demons. How can we as Christians talk about angels?" I love that opinion, because I love to rebuke it. Christians have known about angels long before "New Ager" was a term. Before Christians had angels, Jews had angels. Before Jews had angels, Israelites had angels. And before any of that, Genesis 3:24 tells us God set cherubim at the east of the Garden of Eden with a flaming sword that turned every way. Angels predate New Age. They predate Christianity. They predate the flood. Job 38 says the morning stars sang together as God laid the foundations of the earth.
So no, this is not a fringe subject. In this episode I want to walk you through what scripture actually says about angels, why I call them our brothers in arms, and how to partner with them without crossing a single line.
Why Does God Even Use Angels?
People sometimes ask why God needs angels. He is omnipresent. He is omnipotent. Could He not just do everything Himself? Let me explain it the way I see it. When a king has a jurisdiction, he is in charge of the whole kingdom. He is not personally scrubbing every toilet or feeding every mouth. He has provisions and agents that carry his rule into every corner. Jesus has armies of angels in different divisions, with different job descriptions, dispatched in His name to do His bidding. Just like Jesus has many ministers in the earth speaking on His behalf to advance His government, He has many angels in the spirit who carry that same government into places we cannot see.
Philippians 3:20 says our citizenship is in heaven. We are part of a heavenly nation. Angels are part of that same nation. They are not weird. They are our brothers in arms.
What Does the Bible Actually Say?
Psalm 103:20 says, "Bless the Lord, you His angels who excel in strength, who do His word, heeding the voice of His word." This is the key that religious people stumble over. They will tell you that angels only hear the voice of God Himself, that you can never speak to angels, that any of this is occultism repackaged for Christianity. I rebuke that in Jesus' name. As believers, when we decree, declare, and pray the Word of God, the angels of the Lord heed that word and perform it. Whoever is speaking it, in whatever voice, angels take that word and act. That is how it works.
Psalm 91:11 says, "For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways." Hebrews 1:14 says angels are "ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?" Read those together and the picture is clear. Angels are dispatched in response to the Father's word, on behalf of the believer, in line with the assignment of Jesus.
How Do You Partner Without Crossing Lines?
This is where I want to be careful and biblical. In Revelation 22, John falls down to worship at the feet of the angel showing him these things and the angel says, "See that you do not do that, for I am your fellow servant and of your brethren the prophets. Worship God." That is the lane. You worship God. You pray to the Father. You follow Jesus. You are led by the Holy Spirit. As that prayer goes up, the Father may dispatch angels to act in line with His will. The believer's job is not to command angels for their own purposes. It is to agree with what God is doing.
In my morning prayer (which is going into my book, Prayers That Move Heaven and Shake Earth), I release angels of finance, angels of healing, and angels of warfare to perform their assignments over my day. I am not directing them. I am speaking the word of the Lord, and they heed the voice of His word. That is the protocol.
What Kinds of Angels Have I Seen On Assignment?
I want you to know I am not making this up. I have watched the fruit of this for years. Here are some of the categories of angels we have seen at work in our ministry to survivors of satanic ritual abuse and government-sponsored mind control:
There are traveling angels who escort your car, your plane, your luggage. I have not had a piece of luggage lost in a decade. Every piece I own has the blood of Jesus on it.
There are healing angels. John 5 actually describes one. An angel went down at a certain time into the pool of Bethesda and stirred up the water, and whoever stepped in first was made well. I have seen healing angels with wings beat frequencies into a person's body that import the healing power of Jesus. I have seen technician angels come in and dismantle nanotech and crystal liquid implants inside survivors. Implants have come out of the body. The fruit speaks.
There are warring angels with no sense of humor. There are messenger angels who deliver scrolls of assignment, like the one I received in my bathtub before I moved to Dallas. There are linking angels who lock arms around your property so evil cannot penetrate the borders. There are worshipping angels, financial angels, guardian angels, mercy angels.
Why Have Most Christians Missed This?
The enemy has weaponized superstition. If he can keep you afraid of the topic of angels, he keeps you cut off from a whole division of the army God assigned to you. The Bible says one of the antichrist agendas is to wear out the saints. When believers do not pray, do not worship, do not speak the word of God, the angels on assignment with them have nothing to do. I have watched angels in churches cry out for help because the leadership had no idea how to engage them. They sit. They wait. They are stagnant.
That does not have to be your story. You are an ambassador of the government of God in the earth. Worship Him. Speak His word. Stand on His promises. And watch your brothers in arms get to work.
